How much rain from Helene has Indiana picked up so far?

We are not completely done with rain just yet. Watch for scattered showers and downpours through Monday. We have rainfall totals from Friday and Saturday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana has picked up some decent rain from the leftovers of Hurricane Helene. We also got some crazy wind gusts 50-70 MPH, causing lots of power outages and downed trees.

We never want a tropical system to hit the U.S. with all the wind, flooding, and storm surge that comes with it. The only beneficial thing it does is bring some rain to places farther inland, many times after a hot and dry summer.

So how much rain did we pick up. We created a list as of 6 p.m. Saturday. Expect more rain Sunday and Monday. For most of us, it will just be light showers. However a few of us will get downpours that could add another quarter to half inch of rain to what we have already picked up.

Southern Indiana picked up the most. Much of central Indiana picked up 1-2 inches of rainfall. There was a band of heavier rain from Carmel and Noblesville to Knightstown to Rushville to Connersville.
