How to watch the Lyrid meteor shower

The weather will be great if you want to view the Lyrid meteor shower Friday and Saturday night.

INDIANAPOLIS — The weather will cooperate for viewing the Lyrid meteor shower over the next couple of nights.

Skies will be mainly clear and it will be mild too.

(Note: The attached video is an earlier report on 2022 skywatching events.)

The best viewing will be away from city lights.  Be sure to look in the northeast sky and it is suggested to give your eyes about 30 minutes to adjust to the dark.

The peak was early Friday morning but this meteor shower will be visible through April 29.
