TGIF to all. You can definitely feel the rise in the Muggy Meter today in the wake of the widespread showers from earlier this morning. As we've mentioned many times leading up to this weekend, the system currently moving across the Ohio Valley is doing so at a snail's pace and slower than initially modeled on Monday.
As a result, there won't be a significant push of drier air behind it and the humid feel outside today lingers into next week. This will be key for the tens of thousands pounding the pavement Saturday morning in the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
For those getting in a last day taper run, there may be spotty downpours around the Indy metro area as a slow-moving axis moving across the central portion of the state.
Areas of fog and low clouds emerge overnight into Saturday morning. Temperatures at the start of the race will be near 60° with dewpoints nearly matching. That means the air will be relatively humid. You'll want to keep this in consideration as it won't allow your body's sweat to evaporate/cool you as efficiently as say with dewpoints in the lower 50s & 40s.
Wind and/or rain won't be an issue on the course Saturday. As of now, temperatures are not expected to jump much between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. tomorrow.
The remainder of the weekend features spotty afternoon thunderstorm Saturday, scattered to numerous showers/storms approaching from the west Saturday night, and spotty storms again on Sunday. There will be many dry, but humid, hours this weekend. But we recommend checking radar for outdoor plans.
