INDIANA, USA — We needed rain, and we got it across Indiana, but the weather has been very dreary for the past few days as the remnants of Helene spin clouds and mist over the Ohio River Valley.
We have another day or so of this cloudy, showery weather. Sunshine is back in the forecast soon.

We are tracking a cold front pushing across the central Plains. It is not very strong, but it will do the job of pushing Helene out to the Atlantic, and bringing back the sunshine to Indiana. It will also drop temperatures a bit midweek. Expect some mornings in the 40s.
Cold front moving in, rain moving out
The low is very gradually drifting east, but Indiana is still in the bubble of clouds and showers around the leftovers of Helene. The system needs something to pushing it because it is essentially stuck.
A cold front with a modest temperature drop of 5 to 15 degrees across the Midwest. We may have highs in the high 60s and low 70s midweek, plus some 40s in the mornings on Wednesday and Thursday. It's a brief, small drop in temperatures, but it also will bring clearer skies.
The clouds will hold again for the most part across Indiana for Monday and likely Tuesday. Sun breaks will be possible at times, but showers will also be possible at times, too.
Timing the rain
Rain chances are slowly going down, but we will eliminate them by Wednesday. The rest of the workweek looks nice with lots of sunshine. We'll finally get a chance to dry out.
Our next front will arrive this coming weekend with some on-and-off rain chances. The upper level pattern looks a bit messy and inconsistent so we are not sure on rain timing next weekend yet.
Cooler air midweek
We won't have a massive drop in temperatures overall, but it will feel much cooler Wednesday and Thursday morning. This front will knock out the humidity that Helene has brought. This will allow morning temperatures to start in the 40s across Indiana midweek.
