INDIANAPOLIS — Much cooler air has arrived in central Indiana, but it only sticks around for a few days.

TODAY:

- Highs only in the upper 60s this afternoon

- Most of the area will see sunny skies

- Northern parts of the state will see some lake-enhanced clouds and perhaps a stray shower across the far northwestern tier of the state

Frost possible overnight

Very chilly air arrives tonight as low temperatures fall into the low 40s around the metro and into the upper 30s in outlying locations. We'll be watching for the possibility of frost in those areas that drop to 37 degrees or below.

Slightly warmer for Sunday afternoon

Layer up if you're headed downtown early for the Colts tailgate. We're looking better in the afternoon though as highs rebound into the low 70s under a sunny sky. The average high for this time of year is in the low 80s.

Temperatures will begin to trend back upward starting on Monday with highs near 80 and will continue to climb back through the 80s throughout next week. We could even see a few more 90 degree days by late next week.
