INDIANAPOLIS — Twenty-four hours is making all the difference in the world to our weather right now. That and a warming wind that will be stiff at times from the southwest today. Temperatures will be a good 15°-20° warmer than Tuesday, but it will "feel" 40°+ warmer compared to the near-zero windchills we endured Tuesday morning.
There will be plenty of sunshine today and to start Thursday morning before the next weather-maker arrives. Expect rather breezy conditions this afternoon and a stronger wind emerging Thursday.
The southwest wind and early day sun tomorrow gets temperatures into the 50s before clouds/showers increase Thursday afternoon.
Rain increases Thursday evening into Friday with the steadiest/heaviest rainfall expected to occur during the Friday morning commute. Rain potential is in the half-inch to locally one inch range right now. Though widespread diminishes Friday afternoon, clouds and showers linger and make for raw conditions when combined with temperatures in the 40s.
Not much sunshine expected this weekend with occasional showers and seasonably chilly highs in the 40s. The weather pattern remains unsettled early next week with a couple more disturbances bringing chances of both rain and snow showers into mid-week and more clouds than sunshine.
Longer range guidance hints of much above (nearly 20° warmer than average) later next week in the Dec. 7-10 timeframe. Updates to come.
