INDIANAPOLIS — Our next storm system is moving into central Indiana and will likely create hazardous travel conditions through tomorrow morning.
Winter weather advisories are going into effect today and lasting through 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Most of central Indiana will receive a glaze up to 0.10 inches of ice. Northwest portions could see between 0.10 to 0.20 inches. Southern Indiana will likely receive cold rain, due to slightly warmer temperatures.
Northwest Indiana has already been reporting freezing rain throughout this morning, and it has been creating slow travel conditions.
Around 5 p.m., freezing rain will begin to spread across the majority of central Indiana.
The heaviest rates will be during the overnight hours.
Freezing rain will begin to switch to rain tomorrow morning between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Currently, road temperatures are at or below freezing.
Ice could quickly develop and lead to tricky travel conditions, especially on overpasses/bridges and roads that are not treated. Also, watch for ice getting out of the car and when stepping out the door.
