INDIANAPOLIS — Daylight saving time ends tonight bringing new sunrise and sunset times starting tomorrow.
First things first...
It'll be a gorgeous start to our weekend here in central Indiana as an area of high pressure keeps skies clear allowing for lots of sunshine. Temperatures climb slightly above average with highs in the low to mid 60s this afternoon.
With a clear sky, it will cool off quickly this evening with temperatures dropping into the upper 40s by 11 p.m. and then into the low 40s overnight.
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m.
- Set your clock back one hour before going to bed tonight
- Sunset tonight is at 6:41 p.m. and will shift to 5:40 p.m. Sunday
- Sunrise tomorrow will be earlier at 7:16 a.m.
- Continue to lose "daylight" until the winter solstice on Dec. 21
Entering into a new "standard time" era Sunday
A warm front will lift through the area Sunday increasing clouds in the afternoon and bringing a stray shower chance, especially to the northwestern tier of the state. It'll also bring a warming trend with highs near 70 degrees. It won't be as cool post-show for Swifties Sunday evening, with temperatures holding steady in the 60s.
Unsettled pattern early next week
The pattern stays more mild with well above average highs in the 70 through the first part of next week, but it'll also keep rain chances in the forecast. The better chance to see a few showers on Monday will stay across the western tier of the state. The more widespread rain chance arrives along a cold front Tuesday afternoon and evening.
