INDIANAPOLIS — Arctic air will still be around for the weekend before central Indiana thaws out.
Highs today will max out in the teens with wind chills around -5 to 0 during the afternoon.
Temperatures will take a tumble tonight due to snow-covered ground and a high-pressure system clearing clouds.
Sunday morning lows will be about -5 degrees. Winds will be calmer, so extreme wind chills are not expected.
Highs will bump up to the 20s tomorrow, beginning our warming trend. Highs by the second half of the upcoming week are expected to be in the 40s.
However, there will still be an active weather pattern. Rain, possibly freezing rain, will move in late Monday into Tuesday throughout central Indiana. There will be a daily chance of rain the rest of the week. This could lead to river flooding and potentially ice jams.
