INDIANAPOLIS — A few snowflakes will be possible Wednesday night through Friday as the coolest temperatures yet this season arrive in central Indiana.
BUT FIRST... A BRIEF WARM STRETCH
A stretch of well above average temperatures begins today as a warm front lifts through central Indiana. We'll see lots of dry time with gradually increasing clouds in the afternoon as temperatures warm into the low 60s.
WARMER, BUT WITH SOME SHOWER CHANCES
This weather system eventually brings some stray showers overnight into tomorrow morning with the best chance of more widespread rain arriving Monday night through the first part of the day Tuesday. Look for highs in the low 60s Monday warming into the upper 60s Tuesday.
COLDER WITH RAIN/SNOW MIX POSSIBLE STARTING WEDNESDAY
There will be a more potent weather system this week arriving on Wednesday, which brings much cooler air into the area. It'll also bring a few showers Wednesday during the day.
Temperatures peak in the low 50s Wednesday afternoon with low temperatures dropping to near freezing by Thursday morning.
The first chance of a wintry mix will be late Wednesday night into Thursday morning as much cooler air takes over. The better chance of the wintry mix will be in the northern tier of the state.
A much colder pattern settles in for the remainder of the week and with a strong northwest wind expected through Friday, lake-enhanced rain/snow showers will be possible. Staying unseasonably cool through next weekend with highs in the 40s and lows near the freezing mark.
