'Best weather in the country' arriving in Indiana | Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog

A streak of sunny days begins Wednesday with some of the most pleasant weather around.

INDIANAPOLIS — The first of several cold fronts to cross Indiana over the next 10 days is delivering less humid, breezy conditions from northwest-to-southeast the remainder of the day. In that process, the boundary may trigger isolated showers or sprinkles, but most areas remain rain-free.

The Muggy Meter is also dropping like a rock as much drier air blows in the strengthening northwesterly wind. You'll definitely notice a difference in the humidity before sunset and notice a difference in the cloud cover, too, as clearing occurs in the wake of the front.

Under a clearing sky and a calming wind overnight,  expect much chillier temperatures in the 40s for Wednesday morning. You might want long sleeves and a light jacket for a few hours in the morning, but otherwise, you can give Indiana the trophy for "best weather in the country" with sunshine and highs near 70°, though the remainder of the seven-day forecast will be rather pleasant, too.

Highs warm in the upper 70s Thursday and near 80° on Friday. We're forecasting a pleasant evening Operation Football this week, though there will be a subtle frontal passage. However, limited atmospheric moisture is expected to keep that FROPA (frontal passage) dry.

Our weekend remains sunny and slightly more humid on Sunday. A third front crosses the state late Sunday, but we're only forecasting spotty showers at best right now. However, it will be a breezy finish to the weekend that precedes another quick jab of seasonably cool air early next week.
