Arctic front will bring sub-zero wind chills, possible snow bursts Wednesday evening | Weather Impact

As winds pick up and some snow gets mixed in, roads could be hazardous.

INDIANAPOLIS — It is a cool morning now, but expect a number of changes today and tonight.

Early this morning, the weather service issued a wind advisory for northern Indiana, including Benton County, until 1 a.m. Thursday. Just before 4 a.m., a wind advisory was issued for most of central Indiana from 6 p.m. Wednesday until early Thursday, as well.

Most of the day will be dry with highs in the low 40s, but changes come tonight. As winds pick up and some snow gets mixed in, roads could be hazardous. This will be a weather impact evening with some heavy bursts of snow possible and slick, changing road conditions.

By Thursday's morning rush hour, look for temperatures near 12, sub-zero wind chills and dicey driving in spots for the morning rush hour. Make plans now for possible school delays in affected districts tomorrow.

The weather does get better by the weekend, with Friday's high reaching 30, and 49 by a sunny Sunday. Look for a high of 53 Monday with rain around.
