After over a week of remnant wildfire smoke blanketing central Indiana, it's now taking a toll on air quality at the surface. This is due to a combination of stagnant air and that residual smoke from the western U.S. and Canada.
As a result, an Air Quality Alert is in effect for central Indiana Wednesday and Thursday. This is specifically for those in with "sensitive respiratory" but could include all of us in the days ahead if AQI continues to worse.
Additional alerts may be needed and latest modeling suggest smoke may become more concentrated in Indiana over the next 24-48 hours. Stay tuned and be alert to changes.
