Cardinals pitcher Zack Thompson provides meals to tornado-devastated hometown of Selma

The tornado that hit Selma was rated an EF3 with winds 136 to 165 miles per hour.

SELMA, Ind. — Selma, Indiana was devastated by a tornado March 14.

Emergency management officials reported early on that up to 50% of the structures in the town of Selma were damaged by the storm.

Since then, first responders have been working around the clock to check structures and help people in the community.

That effort was not lost on St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Zack Thompson, whose hometown is Selma.

Thompson provided a meal for first responders in his hometown.

Brian Dudley posted an image of it on X, saying how they were "very grateful."

Thompson then shared Dudley's post and wrote, "Selma Strong."

The tornado that hit Selma was rated an EF3, with winds 136 to 165 miles per hour. That same tornado also hit Winchester.

While injuries were reported from the tornado, there were no deaths in Indiana.
