Tornado watch until 1 a.m., warnings issued as storms move across central Indiana

A Tornado Watch is in effect for most of central Indiana until 1 a.m. as a line of storms moves through the state, spurring reported tornadoes.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A Tornado Watch is in effect for most of central Indiana until 1 a.m. as a line of storms moves through the state, spurring reported tornadoes.

A strong cold front is move into central Indiana this evening. There have been reports of POSSIBLE tornado damage in Lafayette this evening. The Tornado Watch has been extended until 1am Wednesday morning for a good part of central Indiana. Strong to severe storms are possible with damaginig winds, large hail and possible isolated tornadoes. Heavy rain will be likely with these storms and likely some small hail. The storms are moving quickly to the east-northeast. Make sure you have the Live Doppler 13 Weather App with you as you had out and about today. More Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and a few more Tornado Warnings will be possible.

Storms will start to come to an end by late evening. Much colder air will start to wrap in behind the cold front. Temperatures will fall into the low 30s. A few snow showers will be possible Wednesday, mainly during the morning.

Wednesday will be a blustery day with winds sustained around 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. Afternoon highs will only climb into the upper 30s with wind chill values in the mid 20s.

Thursday will also be breezy with highs in the upper 40s and a wintry mix of rain and snow will be possible by late day.

A mix of rain and snow will be possible through Friday morning and will be will cold with highs in the low 40s.

Another round of snow will be possible Saturday and Sunday with temperatures starting off in the upper teens and highs only climbing into the low 40s.
