Wind gusts hit 30-35 mph today and peak-out 40-50 mph at times the next 24 hours. Please use caution if traveling in high profile vehicles. Downed trees/power lines are possible. Rain expands over Central Indiana this morning and sticks around into the afternoon.
While we are seeing rain, a brutal storm is bringing a Winter Storm Warning and a Blizzard Warning to parts of the Upper Midwest and Central Plains. There's also the possibility we could see thunderstorms that could contain higher wind gusts, though we're not expecting organized severe weather at this time.
Friday begins unseasonably mild but the passage of a cold front drops temperatures into the 40s Friday afternoon, even with a brightening sky. A seasonably cold weekend is ahead with highs in the 30s and low in the 20s.
It looks like cooler air comes in for the new year next week.
