An excessive heat warning is in effect from 2pm Thursday through 8pm Sunday for all of central Indiana. You will need to take precautions from the heat late this week. Remember you pets will need extra shade and water or bring them inside. You might also check on family and friends that don't have air conditioning. We are forecasting 4 days in a row of 95 degree heat with feels like temperatures in the range of 100 to 110 degrees. We won't get much relief overnight either, with temperatures only dropping into the middle and upper 70s.
A few spotty showers and storms are still possible this evening, but most places will be dry, warm and muggy. We will watch for a complex of storms to develop to our NW overnight. If it holds together, there will be a few morning storms on Thursday before the heat takes over.
The next best chance for rain and storms will be Sunday afternoon and evening. This will be the beginning of some relief from the high heat and high humidity. High temperatures will fall back into the 80s next week.
