INDIANAPOLIS — If you're thinking of traveling anytime soon, a nonstop flight just got added to the Indianapolis airport.
Southwest Airlines announced Wednesday that it will bring back its Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) nonstop flight out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) starting Aug. 5, 2025.
“This will be our 52nd nonstop destination operating out of IND,” Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said in a statement. “And it’s another win for our community partners who come alongside us to improve nonstop access to key business and leisure destinations.”
Southwest will be the only airline out of IND flying into MDW, airport officials said.
The new Chicago Midway nonstop flight will operate twice daily and year-round.
It is returning after a nearly five-year hiatus.
“Chicago Midway gives Hoosiers more access to Southwest’s destinations across the United States and beyond enabling easier travel for both business and leisure needs,” said Maggie Cunningham, IAA director of air service and airport experience.
In addition, Southwest is also added a daily nonstop flight from IND to Nashville (BNA) on March 6, 2025.
Southwest currently offers flights from Indianapolis to: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Cancun, Dallas (Love Field), Denver, Panama City, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston (Hobby), Las Vegas, Kansas City, Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, Ft. Myers, San Diego, Sarasota/Bradenton and Tampa.
