CORYDON, Ind. — One woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash while allegedly fleeing police in southern Indiana Saturday evening.
Just before 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, an Indiana State Police trooper was patrolling the eastbound lanes of State Road 62 in Corydon when they began to pursue a suspect for rolling through a stop sign.
Before the officer could catch up to the car, it had left the roadway and collided with a tree, ejecting the female driver.
Officials believe alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.
The Harrison County Coroner's Office identified the driver as 27-year-old Sierra Rose Baylor, of Corydon.
Corydon is roughly 130 miles south of downtown Indianapolis.
