Pike firefighters safely recover driver who flipped into ditch

Firefighters were able to safely recover the driver who flipped over into a ditch at the off-ramp of I-65 southbound and Lafayette Road.

Pike Fire Department made a vehicle rescue.

INDIANA, USA — The Pike Township Fire Department responded to a car Tuesday morning that left an off-ramp and flipped over into a ditch in Marion County.

6-27-2023. 11am - #pikefire on scene of I-65 and Lafayette Rd. of vehicle extrication. Vehicle left off-ramp and flipped into ditch. Crews safely extricated and transported patient. #PTFD

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the off-ramp at Interstate 65 southbound and Lafayette Road was closed for the rollover crash with entrapment around 9:20 a.m.

Firefighters were able to safely recover the driver and transport them to an area hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
