INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation confirmed one person was killed after a van caught on fire following a crash on Interstate 465 on the west side of Indianapolis Thursday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m. Oct. 31, Indiana State Police troopers responded to a crash involving a van and a semi on I-465 near the Washington Street exit. INDOT cameras captured the van engulfed in flames.
The right three northbound lanes of I-465 will be closed as crews investigate the incident. The exit ramp to U.S. 40 will also be closed during the investigation.
Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said drivers can expect "lengthy delays in the are for the next 3-4 hours."
