INDIANAPOLIS — A man is charged in a deadly crash from December involving a stolen car and an ambulance on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

Mylic Lorenz Mosley, of Avon, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and reckless homicide.

According to court documents, a 2016 Nissan Rogue was speeding on Michigan Road, near Kessler Boulevard West Drive, Dec. 17, 2023, when it lost control and crossed the center line into the path of a pickup.

The force of the crash pushed the pickup into the path of an ambulance. That impact ripped the pickup in half, ejecting the passenger, killing them.

The driver of the Nissan and the passenger walked away from the crash. When police checked the Nissan, they discovered it was reported stolen in August 2023.

In the Nissan, police found paperwork with Mosley's name on it.

Vehicle data was analyzed and police determined the Nissan was going 94 mph right before the crash.

In January, police spoke with the passenger in the Nissan, who identified Mosley as the driver. The next day, police spoke with Mosley, who allegedly told them he didn't remember how the crash happened. They say he claimed he blacked out at one point after the crash and made his way to the hospital without calling 911 or talking with officers.

Mosley allegedly said he purchased the Nissan from a friend and did not know it was stolen.

At the time this article was published, a warrant was out for Mosley's arrest.
