INDIANAPOLIS — There's good news for drivers who frequent Interstate 465 on Indianapolis' southeast and east sides.
INDOT announced Sunday, Aug. 4 that I-465 between I-65 and I-70 has fully reopened after a multi-week closure.
In June, the southbound lanes in that stretch were closed for patchwork. Then, starting July 12, INDOT closed the northbound lanes.
(NOTE: The video above is a previous report on INDOT asking for public input on I-65 safety.)
The lanes were scheduled to reopen by early Monday, Aug. 5 and reopened one day prior.
The official detour during the closure was I-65 northbound to I-70.
The project is part two of six to completely restore I-465.
