INDIANAPOLIS — There's good news for drivers traveling through downtown Indianapolis: Southbound Interstate 65 is about to fully reopen.

I-65 southbound between West and Alabama streets has been closed for construction since late Oct. 15, with southbound interstate traffic required to exit at West Street. Several entrances and exit ramps in the area have also be closed or inaccessible.

INDOT said the closures, for bridge deck patching and joint repairs, were expected to end by the end of October. On Friday, Oct. 25, the agency said the reopening would occur multiple days ahead of schedule.
