INDOT plans expected to impact travel on I-465 this weekend

Drivers should expect lane and ramp restrictions on I-465 on Indy's northeast and southwest sides this weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS — INDOT crews are scheduled to finish lane switches on Interstate 465 on the southwest side of Indianapolis this weekend.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, eastbound I-465 will be reduced to one lane between I-65 and I-70 near the airport, and several eastbound ramps will be closed for the weekend between on the city's southwest side.

The work, outlined in the map below, was originally scheduled for the weekend of March 24-27, but weather did not allow for striping of the new lanes, so the plans were pushed back to this weekend.

The work is part of the I-69 Finish Line project connecting Indianapolis to Evansville with the Interstate 69 extension.

I-465 down to one lane near Castleton

On the northeast side of Indianapolis, crews will be restricting I-465 eastbound and southbound to a single lane in the Castleton area on Friday, March 31 at 9 p.m. through Monday, April 3 at 6 a.m. The ramp from I-69 southbound to I-465 southbound will also be reduced to a single lane during this time.

North Split update

INDOT expects to shift traffic onto new I-70 westbound to I-65 northbound infrastructure in the North Split Interchange before the weekend. The shift was scheduled for Thursday night.

All projects are weather dependent and the schedules are subject to change.
