INDIANAPOLIS — The East 56th Street ramp to northbound Interstate 465 is scheduled to close after the morning rush hour on Monday, Jan. 16 and will remain closed through 2024, according to INDOT.
The long-term ramp closure is needed for Clear Path construction plans to add travel lanes to I-465 between Fall Creek and the White River on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Access from 56th Street to northbound Shadeland Avenue will remain open. Emergency vehicles will also have access throughout the closure.
The exact timing of the closure depends on weather. Crews need dry pavement to apply necessary lane markings in the area.
The long-term ramp closure will help keep interstate traffic moving on I-465 during Clear Path construction. The closure will also provide room for crews and their equipment to work safely in the area.
