Eastbound lanes of I-465 reopening Thursday on city's southwest side | Here's when the westbound lanes will close

All travel lanes and ramp movements on eastbound I-465 are expected to open ahead of the Thursday morning rush hour.

INDIANAPOLIS — The eastbound lanes of Interstate 465 on the southwest side of Indianapolis are expected to open on time for the Thursday morning rush hour.

The closure is part of INDOT’s I-69 Finish Line project. The section from I-70 to I-65 was closed at the start of June to make various improvements, including new travel lanes.

Work had been scheduled to wrap up June 21, and INDOT says it is right on schedule.

Crews will now move over to the other side and work on the westbound lanes.

All westbound I-465 travel lanes and on-ramps will close on or after July 7 to begin work on additional lanes, retaining walls, drainage structures and bridge rehabilitation. That work is expected to be complete around July 29.

INDOT said these closures are necessary to allow crews to safely complete work. You can find a video explaining the closures and detours here
