CARMEL, Ind. — Carmel Police is reporting Spring Mill Road is closed between 96th and Illinois streets due to damage to the bridge over Interstate 465 Thursday morning.
The damage was caused when a semi with a large load hit the bridge around 11:30 a.m. July 18.
The INDOT bridge inspector declared the bridge was unsafe for travel and will be closed for several days, according to a Carmel Police Department spokesperson.
Multiple westbound lanes of I-465 were shut down when the crash happened. All lanes reopened around 1:30 p.m.
The Carmel Fire Department shared photos of the damage caused by the crash.
