TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — A 33-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash in Tippecanoe County Thursday morning.
Around 6:45 a.m. Sept. 19, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office received a report of a crash involving a car and motorcycle in the 4500 block of Pretty Prairie Road, just north of Lafayette.
First responders arrived on scene and found a crashed Dodge Charger and Honda motorcycle. The 33-year-old motorcyclist from Monticello was found with "life-threatening injuries" and then flown to a hospital in Indianapolis. He was found wearing a helmet.
Although he was not wearing a seatbelt, the 22-year-old driver of the car was found uninjured.
According to the sheriff's office, the driver of the Charger was attempting to pass another northbound car and drove into the southbound lane, where he struck the motorcyclist.
The roadway was closed for around three hours as officials worked to clean the scene and investigate.
The identity of the motorcyclist will be released once family has been notified.
