25-year-old Lawrence County sheriff's deputy killed in motorcycle crash southwest of Bloomington

The single-vehicle crash happened on State Road 445, near I-69, just after 11 p.m. Saturday.

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. — A 25-year-old Lawrence County sheriff's deputy died in a motorcycle crash Saturday night in Greene County, southwest of Bloomington.

Just after 11 p.m. July 27, Greene County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on East State Road 445, near Interstate 69.

According to the sheriff's department, the motorcyclist went off the road for an unknown reason. When deputies arrived on scene, the man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department identified the motorcyclist as Brenten Trueblood, of Bedford.

In a Facebook post, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office asked for people to pray for Trueblood's family, friends and co-workers. 

"Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for the tragic passing of Deputy Trueblood. He was one of a kind, who brought an unmatched work ethic every day. You will be missed dearly, sir. You can rest easy, we will take it from here. You will never be forgotten," the Facebook post reads.
