INDIANAPOLIS — A 17-year-old girl was shot at after honking her horn at another car while driving on Interstate 465, according to Indiana State Police.
According to ISP Sgt. John Perrine, the teenager "merely honked her horn" at another vehicle that cut her off on I-465, and someone in that vehicle responded by firing multiple shots back at her.
Perrine shared photos of the front windshield and the driver's seat of the teen's car that were shot through multiple times. Luckily, the teenager was not injured during the shooting.
ISP and Perrine are asking Hoosiers to report road rage immediately to 911, even if you are not involved.
As of March 20, ISP has investigated 15 interstate shootings and another 56 incidents of someone pulling out a firearm because of suspected road rage in 2024.
