PLAINFIELD, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation says the speed limit for a busy section of U.S. 40 in Hendricks County is set to be reduced next month.
INDOT said in a press release the affected section is in Plainfield, from just east of Ventura Boulevard to just west of Vandalia Boulevard/Mecklenburg Drive.
The new speed limit will be 45 miles per hour, a reduction from the current 55 mph.
The change is scheduled to take effect on or after Nov. 6. INDOT cited enhanced safety for the adjustment.
