WHITE COUNTY, Ind. — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 65 in White County Friday afternoon.

According to Indiana State Police, northbound traffic had stopped on I-65 north of the 191 mile-marker due to crashes on the interstate. The drivers of a Jeep Wrangler and a Volvo semi-truck told ISP investigators they had begun to slow down when they noticed stopped traffic ahead.

The driver of a Dodge Dart came up behind them and reportedly failed to slow down, side-swiping the Jeep and hitting the rear of the semi's trailer.

The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash. Their name has not yet been released, pending notification of family members.

The drivers of the Jeep, who was a woman from Greenwood, and the semi-truck, were not injured in the crash.
