Indianapolis to host 2025 WNBA All-Star Game

It will be the first time Indianapolis has hosted the WNBA All-Star Game.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis is hosting AT&T WNBA All-Star 2025.

ESPN reported the news Wednesday afternoon, while the Indiana Fever confirmed it Thursday morning.

For the first time, the WNBA All-Star Game will take place in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Fever, on Saturday, July 19.

“We are excited to bring AT&T WNBA All-Star to Indiana for the first time,” WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said. “The city of Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana have such an incredible and enduring passion for the game of basketball, making the region the perfect host to celebrate the WNBA and the game’s greatest stars.”

In addition to the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, Indianapolis will host the WNBA STARRY 3-Point Contest and Kia WNBA Skills Challenge on Friday, July 18.

Fans will also be able to enjoy the fourth year of WNBA Live, a two-day, interactive celebration representing the intersection of the WNBA with sport, fashion, music and culture.

"I am thrilled that the WNBA will bring the All-Star Game to Indianapolis in 2025," Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said. "I have said it once, and I will say it again, no one knows how to host the biggest events in sports like Indianapolis – the WNBA All-Star Game will be no exception."

The Fever became the epicenter of WNBA popularity after adding No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark, No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston and No. 2 pick NaLyssa Smith.

The Indiana Fever have their sights set on the playoffs with 14 games left in the regular season. Ahead of the return after the break for the Olympics, the team is reporting record-breaking statistics.

Here are some of the statistics the Fever shared Wednesday, Aug. 14:

  • 264.6% increase in ticket sales from year to year
  • The Fever lead the league in attendance for both home and away games.
  • 1,193% increase in jersey sales
  • A league-high record of 38 games broadcast on national TV — including 15 on WTHR and MeTV
  • 800 million video views on social media between April and July — the most among any team in that time span in the WNBA, NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB
  • 1.8 million followers on social media, which leads the WNBA

After starting the season 1-8, the Fever have won 10 of their last 17 games.

The team's next game is Friday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. against the Phoenix Mercury at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Indianapolis hosted the 2024 NBA All-Star game in February.

According to Pacers Sports & Entertainment, more than 81,000 people attended NBA All-Star 2024 events, with a record 197,000 ticketed opportunities to fans. It said the event delivered an economic value for Indianapolis and central Indiana of more than $403 million.
