UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Coming off their third win of the regular season, the Indiana Fever are back in action Monday night.
They travel to Connecticut to take on the Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Here are the three keys to victory in today's Fever Minute:
- Learning from mistakes - Indiana opened its regular season against Connecticut and lost by 21 points, but just one week later, the Sun beat the Fever by only four points. Now, nearly a month later, the Fever must capitalize on the experience of facing the Sun twice already this season.
- Taking advantage of time on offense - In their last road game, the Fever roster was hot. Cailtin Clark tied a career-high 30 points. Erica Wheeler surpassed 2,500 career points. Building on that kind of energy and excitement will only benefit the Fever against the Sun, as long as they can control the ball on offense.
- Controlling the controllables - Leading up to Monday's game, there have been plenty of sidebar stories surrounding this franchise. Getting lots of attention: Why is Clark not headed to the Paris Olympics? Another big question: Should the WNBA be doing more to "protect" Clark from unnecessary fouls? Come game-time, the Fever have to put all the extra attention to the side and focus on the job at hand, controlling what they can control.
Tipoff for Monday's night game is set for 7 p.m. on WTHR.
As the Local TV Home of the Indiana Fever, WTHR/WALV will broadcast more than a dozen Fever games during the season.
Ten of the games will be shown for free over the air on WTHR, and five of the games will be on WALV, which carries MeTV programming and is on Channel 13.3 and 46.1.
