Here are the keys to the Indiana Fever getting the win against the Seattle Storm

The Fever are looking for their second victory on the season. Live coverage of the game begins at 7 p.m. on WTHR.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever look to get back in the win column tonight against the Seattle Storm on WTHR. Here is your Fever Minute ahead of tonight's matchup with the three keys to victory:

  1. Defense, primarily perimeter defenseIn the Fever's last game, the Los Angeles Sparks shot a whopping 60% from three-point range. 42 of LA's 88 points came from long range. That is far too high of a percentage. Christie Sides noted after the game that players were going under screens far too often, as opposed to fighting above them. Whatever the case may be, the Fever have to be better defensively and guard the 3-point line much better to have success.

  1. Stay aggressive and attack the basket – The Fever won the battle in the paint against the Sparks, scoring 26 points inside to their 22. Additionally, Indiana got to the free throw line 25 times, and Caitlin Clark got there 15 times. This is a recipe for success. This opens up your perimeter game and allows you to play inside out. When you're scoring inside at a high level, you're either A) dominating the post or B) Scoring easy buckets in transition. Both play into what the Fever do well. They need to keep this up and the wins will come.

  1. X Factor: Kelsey Mitchell – Since Kelsey Mitchell has entered the starting lineup, she has been the most consistent scorer on the Fever's roster. She's averaging just under 15 points per game and is a perfect backcourt mate to Clark. Mitchell plays downhill, gets to the basket and can score from long range as well. She is the x-factor on an already talented roster. When she has success, so will the Fever.

That is your Fever Minute ahead of tonight's home game with the Storm. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. on WTHR.
