Caitlin Clark to make home debut tonight on WTHR after 20-point game in Fever season opener

WTHR is the Local TV Home of the Indiana Fever this season, with live coverage of the home opener at Gainbridge Fieldhouse beginning at 7 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever plays the New York Liberty on Thursday, May 16 after Caitlin Clark scored 20 points in the Indiana Fever's 92-71 loss to the Connecticut Sun.

WTHR is the Local TV Home of the Indiana Fever this season, with live coverage of the home opener at Gainbridge Fieldhouse beginning at 7 p.m.

The Fever are hosting a pregame party at Bicentennial Unity Plaza from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A game ticket is required to enter the festivities, which will include a DJ, face-painting, basketball, caricature and balloon artists, and concessions.

Clark joins a roster that includes WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, WNBA All-Star Kelsey Mitchell, NaLyssa Smith, Katie Lou Samuelson and more as the team tries to end a league-leading seven-season playoff drought.

The Liberty (1-0) opened the season with an 85-80 win over the Washington Mystics behind 25 points from Jonquel Jones.

Indiana finished 13-27 overall and 5-15 in Eastern Conference games a season ago. The Fever averaged 81.0 points per game last season, 36.9 in the paint, 13.5 off of turnovers and 8.7 on fast breaks.

New York finished 32-8 overall and 16-4 in Eastern Conference action during the 2023-24 season. The Liberty averaged 6.7 steals, 4.5 blocks and 13.5 turnovers per game last season.

Fever on WTHR and WALV

The Fever opened the regular season on Tuesday, May 14 at Connecticut.

As the Local TV Home of the Indiana Fever, WTHR/WALV will broadcast 16 Fever games during the upcoming season. 

The broadcast schedule will include the home opener against the New York Liberty on Thursday, May 16.

Ten of the games will be shown for free over the air on WTHR, and six of the games will be on WALV, which carries MeTV programming and is on Channel 13.3 and 46.1.
