Caitlin Clark named WNBA Rookie of the Month for second time this season

Clark joins teammate Aliyah Boston as the only other rookie in franchise history to earn the recognition multiple times in a single season.

INDIANAPOLIS — For the second time this season, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been named WNBA Rookie of the Month. 

The WNBA announced Friday that Clark earned the honors for the month of July. Previously, Clark was named Rookie of the Month for the month of May. She joins teammate Aliyah Boston as the only other rookie in franchise history to earn the recognition multiple times in a single season. 

Throughout the month of July, Clark averaged 20.3 points, 12.5 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals. She also concluded the month of July as the WNBA leader in assists per game (8.2). So far this season, Clark leads all other rookies in points, assists, steals, minutes, field goals made, 3-point field goals made and free throw percentage. 

Clark's streak of four consecutive double-doubles in the month of July in points and assists marked the longest streak by a rookie in league history.
