SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WTHR) - Hundreds of young racers are in Indianapolis for the annual Battle at the Brickyard. It's the largest quarter midget race in the country.
Two of the young drivers already have a history with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, something they hope to add to this weekend.
The Wheldon name has meaning at IMS. The late Dan Wheldon drove to victory twice, and now his two sons are trying to follow suit.
"It's really cool just to see them out there," said Susie Whedon, Dan's widow and the boys' mother. "I know Dan would just be over the moon, so it's all special."
