INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Eleven announced it has parted ways with head coach Mark Lowry, who is stepping down after two seasons with the team.
The search for a new head coach begins immediately, the team said in a statement.
Lowry became the fourth permanent head coach in Indy Eleven history on Nov. 16, 2021. In 2022, he led the team to its best season since 2019 with a 12-17-5 record.
Indy Eleven returned to the playoffs in 2023 for the first time since the 2019 season, as a sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, after finishing the regular season with a 13-11-10 record.
"Indy Eleven would like to thank Lowry for his service with the club and wish him the very best in his future endeavors," the team said in the announcement.

The city of Indianapolis is moving forward with plans for the new Eleven Park development.
On Nov. 1, 2023, the Department of Metropolitan Development Commission (DMD) unanimously approved a special tax area to pay for infrastructure tied to the project.
The project, which will be located at 402 Kentucky Ave. near Lucas Oil Stadium, will be home to a new stadium for Indianapolis' professional soccer team, the Indy Eleven. It is expected to cost $1 billion to build.
The new development will not only be home to a new soccer stadium, but it will also feature 600 apartments, offices, stores, hotels and restaurants.
It is expected to open in the summer of 2025.
