PARIS, France — The Paris 2024 Olympics are underway in France, and Hoosier athletes are already competing to represent Team USA. In fact, the first two medals the United States won came from Indiana athletes.
Here is how the athletes with Indiana connections did on Tuesday, July 30:
Rajeev Ram
Carmel native Rajeev Ram played his second round match in men's doubles on Tuesday.
Ram and partner Austin Krajicek defeated Brazil's Thiago Monteiro and Thiago Seyboth Wild 6-4, 7-6 (3).
The team will next face Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal, who beat the Netherlands' Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof 6-4, 6-7 (2), 10-2.
Ram and Krajicek play Alcaraz and Nadal at 1 p.m. ET Wednesday, July 31. The match will be available to stream on Peacock.
Ram and Krajicek defeated Australia's Alex de Minaur and Alexei Popyrin 6-2, 6-3 in their first match Monday.
Ram won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mixed doubles with partner Venus Williams.
Chris Guiliano
Notre Dame's Chris Guiliano advanced to the final of the 100m freestyle with a time of 47.72, the seventh fastest — with eight swimmers advancing.
In the morning's heats, Guiliano had a time of 48.25, which was the eighth fastest time among the 79 swimmers.
The 100m freestyle final is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 at 4:39 p.m. ET on WTHR.
Also on Tuesday, July 30, Guiliano was part of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team.
The United States won the silver medal with a time of 7:00.78, which was 1.35 seconds behind gold medalists Great Britain.
Guiliano did not race in the final for the United States.
However, he did compete in the morning, as the United States finished first in their heat with a time of 7:05.57, which was the second fastest among both heats. Guiliano swam his 200m in 1:46.74.
Guiliano's fifth and final event is the 50m freestyle, with heats scheduled to begin at 5:16 a.m. ET Thursday, Aug. 1. Guiliano is in the 10th heat, and the 16 fastest will advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled that same day at 2:44 p.m. ET.

He won his first gold medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday. On Sunday, he competed in the 200m freestyle, finishing 19th with a time of 1:47.60 and did not advance to the next round.
Drew Kibler
Carmel's Drew Kibler is part of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team.
The United States won the silver medal with a time of 7:00.78, which was 1.35 seconds behind gold medalists Great Britain. Kibler's time in the final was 1:45.12, which was the second fastest for the Americans.
Kibler also competed in the morning, as the United States finished first in their heat with a time of 7:05.57, which was the second fastest among both heats. Kibler swam his 200m in 1:46.43.

Kibler previously competed on the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Blake Pieroni
Blake Pieroni, who is from Chesterton, Indiana, and went to Indiana University, is part of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team.
The United States won the silver medal with a time of 7:00.78, which was 1.35 seconds behind gold medalists Great Britain.
Pieroni did not race in the final for the United States.
However, he did compete in the morning, as the United States finished first in their heat with a time of 7:05.57, which was the second fastest among both heats. Pieroni swam his 200m in 1:46.44.

Pieroni previously won three gold medals — one at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 4x100m freestyle relay and two at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay.
Josh Matheny
Josh Matheny, who goes to Indiana University, is competing in the 200m breaststroke.
Matheny advanced to the final with a time of 2:09.70 in the semifinals, which was the sixth fastest among the 16 swimmers.
The 200m breaststroke final is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 at 4:31 p.m. ET on WTHR.
Earlier Tuesday, Matheny was among the 16 swimmers advancing to the semifinals with a time of 2:10.39, which was the 10th fastest in the heats.

Matt Anderson
Zionsville's Matt Anderson is hoping to bring home another medal in men's volleyball. He won bronze in the 2020 Olympics.
The U.S. beat Germany in five sets: 25-21, 25-17, 17-25, 20-25, 15-11. Anderson had 14 points in the win.
Their next game in Pool C play is Friday, Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. ET against Japan. The game will be available to stream on Peacock.
The U.S. beat Argentina 3-0 in their first match, with Anderson scoring 7 points.

Canyon Barry
Fort Wayne native Canyon Barry is competing in the men's 3x3 basketball event.
The U.S. team lost its first game in pool play 22-14 to Serbia. Barry scored 2 points in team's loss. His teammates include Kareem Maddox, Jimmer Fredette and Dylan Travis.
Their next game in pool play is Wednesday, July 31 at 4:35 p.m. ET against Poland.
Andrew Nembhard
Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard is representing Canada at the Olympics.
Canada beat Australia 93-83 in group play on Tuesday. Nembhard played 22 minutes and scored 5 points.
The team's next game is Friday, Aug. 2 against Spain, with tipoff at 11:15 a.m. ET.
Nembhard had two points in 14 minutes in Canada's 86-79 victory over Greece in Group A play on Saturday, July 28.
Trey Lyles
Trey Lyles, who grew up in Indianapolis and went to Arsenal Tech High School, is also representing Canada at the Olympics.
Canada beat Australia 93-83 in group play on Tuesday. Lyles played 7 minutes and scored 3 points.
The team's next game is Friday, Aug. 2 against Spain, with tipoff at 11:15 a.m. ET.
