Hoosier Olympians still have medal hopes in Paris

Indiana University's Carson Tyler advanced in the men's 3-meter springboard.

PARIS, France — Wednesday was a busy day for Hoosiers vying for gold at the Paris Olympics.

Samantha Johnson breaks down some of the other big moments and talks to Zionsville's Matt Anderson about what's next for the men's volleyball team.

South Paris Arena was filled with Team USA fans on Wednesday. The bleachers here behind me were quite literally rocking, all to watch men's volleyball in the semifinals.

Leading the charge was Zionsville's Matt Anderson. He logged 24 points across five sets. And it all came down to the fourth match point - with Anderson serving - but Poland would come out on top.

Afterward, Anderson - with his daughter, Juno - said Team USA didn't execute in key moments.

"They're a good team," Anderson said. "They serve well, and we already have to be prepared for them to go on late runs. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out for us tonight."

But it's not over yet. They'll play Friday at 10 a.m. in the bronze medal match.

And in diving, Indiana University's Carson Tyler advanced to the finals of the men's 3-meter springboard. He did it alongside teammate Andrew Capobianco, but he finished the day 15th, and only the top 12 move on. Tyler's final is set for Thursday at 9 a.m.

Looking ahead to Thursday, it's Mariah Denigan in the River Seine for the open swim. Practice was canceled Tuesday because of the water quality, but they were able to get in a practice run Wednesday.

We've got more diving and men's basketball in the lineup for Thursday.
