Former Colts QB Andrew Luck is in Paris for the Olympics

Five years after he stepped away from professional football, Andrew Luck is cheering on Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

PARIS, France — Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is supporting his wife at the 2024 Paris Olympics

She isn't a competitor, but she helps produce some of the gymnastics coverage on NBC's Olympic programming. They used confetti from the gymnastics trials this year to decorate their home in California.

They brought their children to Paris to make it a family trip.

Luck, a Stanford graduate, has helped support Stanford athletes trying to make the U.S. Olympic team.

"37 of them on Team USA," Luck told 13News anchor Anne Marie Tiernon in Paris. "60 in total. It's a fun way for us alums to root for our country and root for our school and stay engaged with these games."

Thanks to his wife's involvement in gymnastics, that has been where he's spent the majority of his Paris trip.  He and his wife actually provided housing to some of the Stanford gymnasts trying to make the team.

"A lot, a lot of gymnastics, which has been incredible," Luck said. "So happy for these athletes that after Tokyo, they can come to full stadiums, arenas, and all the energy and emotion of being in packed arenas."

He has also managed to make it to the pools for the swimming.

"Swimming has been amazing," Luck said. "Watching Katie Ledecky, one of the great Stanford alums, swim — it's been a treat."

Ledecky was excited to see Luck too, posting about it on social media.

And yes, that tree dancing behind Luck in his interview is the Stanford Tree, their unofficial mascot.

Luck is currently coaching football at Palo Alto High School in California.
