TOKYO, Japan — The postponed Summer Olympics in Japan are now one year away. 13News anchor Scott Swan and photographer Steve Rhodes spent several weeks in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and small villages off the beaten path in late summer of 2019.
Now they're sharing the things they found and the people they met during their pre-Olympic trip with 13News viewers. They discovered great stories including everything from sumo to samurai swords, geishas and Godzilla.
The pre-Olympic trips are some of Scott's favorite assignments. He's been fortunate to have traveled to Greece, Italy, China, Vancouver, England, Russia and Brazil to gather human interest stories about the Olympic host cities.
