BROWNSBURG, Ind. — When the Olympic Games begin in two weeks, you can bet that everyone in Brownsburg will closely be watching as one of their own goes for a gold medal.
Take a drive down Main Street and you'll find a barbershop that has Olympic fever. This is Chloé Dygert country.
She's the Olympic cyclist who graduated from Brownsburg in 2015 and her mom's barber shop is covered with her image.
Gretchen Nichols Waggoner is ready to put down her trimmers and pack her bags for Paris to cheer on her daughter.
"For her to be an Olympian and to be out there and the fact that I know that she can handle herself, she can ride and she's pleasant on TV. She's good natured. She's friendly. She's my best friend and I know that I don't have to worry," said Waggoner. "So all that in one and plus when she's competing, she's just awesome to watch."
This will be the third time Chloé will be in the Olympics. She already won a silver and a bronze medal. Mom will be there in the stands, hoping to watch her daughter bring home gold.
"To be there, I know that that is her ultimate goal. It'll be amazing that I get to share that with her and my husband and then her dad will be there," said Gretchen.
Chloé is very driven. She showed those winning tendencies as a child in school.
"The teacher says, 'Line up, time to go to the bathroom.' She has to be first, or it's time to win at a board game. We're all playing. She has to win," said Gretchen of her daughter's drive to win.
Showtime is almost here and you can bet this barbershop will be buzzing if Gretchen's daughter wins the gold.
