WHEELING, W.Va. — The Indy Fuel are heading to the Kelly Cup playoffs for the second consecutive season.
With just one week left in the ECHL's regular season, the Fuel have officially punched their ticket into the postseason despite a 5-3 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Sunday.
Through April 7, the Fuel sit fourth in the ECHL's Western Conference standings with a record of 37-25-6-2, just ahead of rival Fort Wayne.
The Fuel now look to finish the regular season strong and improve on last year's playoff run, which ended with Indy getting swept by Toledo in four games.
Just two games remain in the Fuel's regular season. They'll travel up I-69 to Fort Wayne to play the rival Komets on April 12 before ending the season at home against the Kalamazoo Wings on April 13 at 7 p.m.
