INDIANAPOLIS — Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson may see a much shorter starting season than expected after his shoulder injury in last week's game against the Titans.
NFL Network is reporting that the Colts and Richardson have sought four or five different opinions as to how they should proceed with the QB's AC joint sprain.
This includes a possible season-ending surgery to heal his right throwing shoulder.
Ian Rapoport posted on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, that the surgery "perhaps is the best option to fix his shoulder long-term."
After the Titans game, Richardson was placed on the injured reserve list meaning he wouldn't be able to play for at least four games.
Gardner Minshew will start Sunday for Indy as they take on the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
Jonathan Taylor is also set to return after four weeks on the physically unable to perform list due to an ankle injury.
