INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner joins us again this week for "Inside the Huddle."
The Colts are rolling. They've won five of their last six games and have three games left in the regular season. The playoffs seem to be within grasp.
"Can't look forward, can't look behind," Buckner said. "You've just gotta stay present and take it one day at a time, one week at a time, you know what I mean? Can't get ahead of ourselves. Everything that we want is in front of us, you know, we're in the driver's seat of our own destiny right now. We just gotta continue to prepare each and every week."
Buckner said it's hard not to occasionally take a peek at the scoreboard.
"I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I do. I watch other teams, how things turn out, but at the end of the day it's all up to us, you know what I mean? We're in control of our own fate. That's just taking it one day at a time."
The Atlanta Falcons are up next for Indianapolis, a team the Colts should consider to be dangerous.
"Definitely," said Buckner. "They've been in some tight games over the season and they play hard, you know what I mean? They love to run the ball on offense. They've got some weapons, so we've got to go a really good job, especially defensively, stopping the run.
Each Wednesday on Inside the Huddle, we'll have the Riley Kid of the Week.
"Haven Parks, he's from Clayton. He's a big-time swimmer," Buckner said.
Inside the Huddle is brought to you by Republic Airways Lift Academy. Each week, Republic makes a donation to Riley Hospital for Children in honor of DeForest Buckner.
