Inside the Huddle | 'Self-inflicted wounds' contributed to loss in season opener

Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner said there was much to learn from last Sunday's game film.

INDIANAPOLIS — It's Inside the Huddle with Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner as the Colts prepare for a huge game Sunday in Green Bay.

The Colts were practicing Wednesday but Buckner was on the sidelines.

"You know, obviously, everybody knows the little back injury. I'm working through it, obviously, and we'll see come Sunday," said Buckner.

Indianapolis is coming off a home loss against the Texans. Houston had a great game plan and they were able to run the ball.

"Yeah, like you said, they had a great game plan, running the ball," Buckner said. "Defensively, it's really just self-inflicted wounds, you know what I mean, some missed fits in the run game, some little fundamental technique stuff that we can clean up. The good thing is we learn from it and we move on, so there was a lot to learn from that film and I think the guys will get it fixed."

This weekend's game is at Lambeau Field. Tell us what it's like to play in that crazy environment.

"Yeah, it's definitely a crazy atmosphere," said Buckner. "The last time I played at Lambeau was back in 2018. I mean, it's a great time, you know what I mean, it's a great atmosphere. You know, it's gonna be loud, for sure, so yeah, it's going to be exciting."

The Packers are playing with a backup quarterback. Josh Jacobs, the running back, is probably going to get the ball a lot. Kind of the same situation as last weekend maybe, right? Gotta stop the run.

"Yeah, definitely, gotta stop the run, gotta earn the right to rush the passer, as defensive linemen," said Buckner. We're ready for the challenge ahead and I know we're going to do everything we can to prepare for this game.

Each week, we recognize the Riley Kid of the Week.

"Yeah, we've got Chloe Brady from Boonville. She loves horseback riding and spending time with her animals," Buckner said.
