INDIANAPOLIS — Welcome to Inside the Huddle, brought to you by Republic Airways. We're joined by Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
Let's talk about what's happening with the team right now. Four losses in the last five games, but the playoff push begins now.
"Definitely," Buckner said. "Essentially, we've got to win out to have a chance to get our way into the playoffs. It's one week at a time."
Coach Shane Steichen talks about being "laser focused." What does that mean to you?
"Laser focused is just paying attention to the task at hand, you know what I mean? Being in the moment, whether it's walk-throughs, meetings, practice. Being in the moment and, you know, attention to details," said Buckner.
Colts-Patriots is one of the greatest rivalries in sports. This week's game is at Gillette Stadium. What's it like playing there?
"It's exciting," Buckner said. "Obviously they've got some good fans there, they're celebrating every big play and that kind of stuff, so it's gonna be a hostile environment for us."
They've got a rookie quarterback, Drake Maye. He's doing pretty well and he's dangerous in the pocket. He can scramble.
"He's definitely dangerous in the pocket, I think he's the second-most scrambling quarterback in the league right now. He has a good awareness in the pocket, knowing where the rush is coming from and how to escape it and, obviously, extend plays. We've gotta do a really good job up front with containing the pocket and collapsing the pocket on them," said Buckner.
